Driving Towards a Cure
At Abra, community is at the heart of everything we do. Since joining the Driven Brands network in 2019, our franchise partners, team members, and customers across North America have united around one shared mission: to help fight cystic fibrosis (CF).
Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting children and young adults. It primarily impacts the lungs and digestive system, making everyday activities like breathing a challenge. While there is still no cure, advances in research and care continue to improve lives, and Abra USA is proud to help drive that progress forward.
Inspired by the granddaughter of a Driven Brands franchise partner who was diagnosed with CF over 25 years ago, Abra decided to dedicate charitable efforts to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, joining our collision group in making CF our charity of choice. Since then, our network of franchise partners, employees, and supporters have raised over $6 million to help fund research, advocacy, and patient support, with no plans to slow down until “CF” stands for “Cure Found.
Shine Season
From June through September, the Abra network unites for Shine Season. This three-month period of time is dedicated to giving back, connecting with local communities, and driving awareness and progress toward a cure for cystic fibrosis.
“Soaps It Up!”
Car Wash
Each summer, Abra locations across North America roll up their sleeves for Shine Season’s signature event, the “Soaps It Up!” car wash.
These car washes are filled with teamwork, fun, and community spirit as our franchise partners and their teams wash cars to raise valuable funds for cystic fibrosis research. Every wash, every smile, and every donation brings us one step closer to better treatments, and, one day, a cure.
Since its launch, “Soaps It Up!” has become one of Abra’s most recognized and beloved traditions, highlighting how small acts can make a big difference in the fight against CF.
Great Strides Walk
As part of our ongoing partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Abra teams across North America proudly participate in the annual Great Strides Walk, the Foundation’s largest national fundraising event. With more than 125,000 walkers joining at locations nationwide, Great Strides is a celebration of hope, community, and progress.
Our Abra teams walk for the families we serve, for those living with CF, and for the future we’re helping to build, one step, one donation, one event at a time.
Other Initiatives
In addition to “Soaps It Up!” and Great Strides walks, our franchise partners get creative in their fundraising efforts, hosting everything from car shows, BBQs, golf tournaments, and more. Many locations also take part in the Gift of Repair initiative, donating for every positive review received on completed repairs. Shine Season is more than just a fundraising campaign, it’s a celebration of compassion, teamwork, and the incredible communities that make Abra shine.
